SIX YEARS!!!

How hard it is to believe that Ken and I have now been married 6 whole years!!!  AND we are both still very happy with each other!!!  Since we were married in the gazebo on the front lawn of the Savannah House in Branson we revisit that spot every year on our anniversary!!!  Some of you who see this may need an explanation of this first picture .. LOL!!  This picnic basket belonged to my Mom and she carried it with her to all of our family reunions and other gatherings for many many years .. after her death my niece Peggy asked for the picnic basket and she brought it to our very next family reunion as a "Traveling Picnic Basket"!!!  Those who would like to have possession of it for the next year put their names in it and the person who's name is drawn takes it home with them .. takes it with them to their picnics or gatherings and puts a picture or two and perhaps a typed story of what the basket has been doing during that year!!  Sad to say it didn't get to go to Myrtle Beach and Florida as I had thought it would but it did get to go to Branson with us .. LOL!!!

We were off bright and early Sunday the 14th .. 8:17 AM!!!

Our first stop was McDonald's in Sullivan, MO .. their Sausage and Egg McMuffin is one of my favorite Breakfast foods!!!  I put Grape Jelly on it .. and Ken thinks I'm bonkers .. LOL!!! They also had those Strawberry Cream Pies .. Yuuummmmm!!!  We saved those for later!!

Next stop .. 11:33 .. Route 66 Antique Mall .. I know you won't understand but I would actually like to have gotten that old white swing in this pic to put on our back patio .. you know me .. if it looks old and scraped up and worn out I love it!!!  BUT ,, it definitely would not fit in the car .. darn the luck!!!

NOPE ..  I do not want it .. I have just never seen one of these and thought it very unique!!!

My daughter Cris and my niece Diann both collect Fiesta Ware ..

Wellllll I do like old and scraped up furniture .. but no .. I didn't want this one .. just felt sorry for it I guess!!! Looks like it has certainly had a rough life!!!  Hope someone falls in love with it and gives it a bunch of TLC and makes it beautiful again!!!

Hard to believe they want $1,400.00 for it!!!!

I did consider this checker board .. but wasn't crazy about the watermelon slices and talked myself out of it!!!

I really liked this door too!!!  It's got the old type knob and lock on it!!!  I am wanting a unique way to hang pics of our kids / grandkids and great grandkids .. think this would look neat standing across a corner somewhere .. if I could find an empty corner!!!  Once again would have been unhandy to get it home .. would have had to lay it on it's side and run it up between the front seats .. not a good thing but would really like to have snagged it!!!

And it would have been a bargain for just $45.00!!!!

3:09 .. Branson and Savannah House at last!!!!  They have such a beautiful front lawn!!!  And there's Mom's picnic basket sitting by those beautiful bright flowers!!!  We've been to the Savannah House so many times it's almost like coming home!!!!

Once we got all settled in we went into Branson to do a little "treasure hunting" and have some lunch!! 4:22 pm

Went back to Savannah House to rest a bit then would be going to see "The Magnificent Seven Variety Show" at the Hamner Theater.

Believe it or not .. when we got to the theater we discovered our tickets were for the very first row in the center of the row!!!  Practically on top of the stage!!!

We didn't stay there very long .. it makes your neck hurt leaning your head back to see what's on stage!!!  Besides that .. I did not want to be chosen to go up on stage and they usually pick someone in the first or second row!!!!

See the lady with the man standing in front of her talking to her .. and another man sitting beside her and leaning against her????  The seat the man is in is the seat Ken was in when we were in that row .. LOL LOL LOL!!!  I was soooooo glad we had moved!!!

There were signs around saying not to take pictures so I refrained from taking any for a long time .. but I saw other people snapping pictures and I just HAD to get a pic of "The Oak Ridge Boys" (fake ones of course!!)!!!

And "Dolly Parton"!!!  She had done a very good job of stuffing her bra .. LOL!!!!

And "Dorothy" too of course!!!

Had to take a second picture so you could see her ruby slippers!!!

And the guys from "Grease" ...

And the patriotic ending .. beautiful!!  I wish I had taped this!!!

The girl with the red, white and blue top to her dress is the 14 year old daughter of the blonde lady in the red, white and blue and the guy up on the step in the white sparkly jacket. The 14 year old was one of the best performers in the group!!!!

And the end of the performance!!  This was a very good show and we were so glad we had chose to come to this one!!!

The Savannah House serves Cobbler and Ice Cream .. Donuts and Cookies at 9:00 so of course we stopped to partake of the treat when we got back!!!! Yuuuuummmmm!!!

The skies Monday morning were very hazey and they were calling for possible rain. We did get rain on and off but it was a light misty rain!!

Savannah House also serves a delicious HOT Breakfast in the mornings .. Waffles, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage Patties, Fried Potatoes, Biscuits & Gravy, Fruit, Cereal, Cookies, Donuts, Bagels .. so of course we took time for Breakfast before heading for the car to start "Treasure Hunting" around Branson!!!

First stop in our search for treasures was the Apple Tree Mall .. nope didn't find anything we wanted!!!  That's okay, it's always fun to look anyway!!!

Lunch was at Chick Fil-A ..

Our next adventure was The Toy Museum .. we spent over 2 hours in this place!!!  Amazing how many toys they have!!!

You like trains??  They have a whole big room devoted to trains and tracks!!!

Girl Scouts!!

There were several people in the room where Zoltar was .. I thought about having him tell me my fortune and have Ken tape it while he was doing it but didn't want to do it with others watching so decided to wait until later .. of course I ended up forgetting to go back!!!!  Didn't think of it again until I was looking at my pictures later!!!

Bears .. Bears .. and more Bears!!!

I have a Teddy Bear collection but any ways near as many as they have .. LOL!!!!

Ken was looking at that old Dutch plow ,, he said it sure looked different than that old gray one we have out in our back yard by the bird feeders!!!  I told him "No .. I don't want ours painted red and blue .. I like it just like it is" .. LOL!!!

The Toy Museum fills 2 large buildings .. we are now on our way to the second building across the way ...

Humpty Dumpty in a top hat no less!!!

A car full of Mickey and friends ..

Don't know why that wicked looking old lady is in the middle of that bunch of Micky Mouses!!!

From Mickey to service men and tanks .. LOL!!!

I told you those Bears were everywhere!!!

You'll see why I took this picture of the chewing gum when you see the next picture!!

10 packages of Gum for 49 cents!!!!

Monkeys!!!  My twin sister's daughter, Lisa, loves Monkeys .. especially sock Monkey's .. so the Monkey pics are for her .. and our grandson Wyatt .. he loves Monkeys too!!!

Ken got a laugh out of the Texas Fly Swatter .. LOL!!!

NUTCRACKERS!!!

I used to collect nutcrackers .. TUESDAY, JULY 16

And today's the day we head back home.  After our delicious hot Breakfast at the Savannah House we loaded the car and headed out.   First stop .. Valley 65 Antiques .. Ozark, MO.

This Singer sewing machine was in beautiful condition and considering how long I have been looking for one in this condition I should have bought it in spite of the price but it didn't look like the one my Mom had .. this one has a lot of decoration on it that Mom's didn't have and I want one that looks like hers!!!  Silly I know .. blame it on old family memories!!!

FIESTA WARE ONCE AGAIN!!!

As you can see this is a BIG store .. lots of room upstairs even!!!!

This is the kind of Antiques store I like .. LOTS of furniture and big stuff .. love to see it even if I can't buy it because I don't have room for it .. LOL!!!

Remember the Dionne Quintuplets????

Another Antique store in Ozark .. actually there were 4 of them in the same area .. but we only went to 2 of them .. maybe we'll check out the other 2 the next time!!!

Ready for an ADVENTURE???

Let's check out the SMALLIN CIVIL WAR CAVE ..

This is an entrance to a cave inside the cave!!!

Our tour guide stopped and told us stories about when the Osage Indians used the cave and when it was used in the Civil War .. of course you know who does not remember any of those stories but it was interesting!!!

Heading back out ..

ANTIQUE MERCANTILE .. MARSHFIELD, MO ...

HEY .. LOOK WHO'S HERE!!!

BEAUTIFUL CABINET!!!

WHOOPS!!  We always stop at Ruby's in Cuba for Ice Cream on the way home from Branson!!!

OH NO!!!  We started seeing these dark dark skies about 25 miles from home!!!

7:52 pm and we're almost home when we see this rainbow!!!

The rainbow looks like it's right over Sawyers Ridge!!!  Maybe it ends right at our house and we have a pot of gold there!!!  HA!!!

No such luck ..the rainbow disappeared a little before we got to Festus .. darn the luck!!!!

Well, our traveling picnic basket didn't get anything very exciting to carry home .. a plastic 8 x 10 picture frame, a can of furniture finish, and 4 books!!!  But at least we thought to take it with us .. LOL!!!
