BRANSON .. A WORK IN PROGRESS!!

What a great birthday present I gave to myself this year .. a trip to Branson!!!  The year before last one of my friends at the Senior Center, Barb, talked me into going on the Hematite Christian Church bus trip to Branson for 3 days and 2 nights.  I had a great time and I decided I should give myself that gift again this year!!  The trip started on October 16th .. 2 days after my birthday!!  

This is a beautiful time of the year to be out traveling in Missouri!!Some of the beauty we saw as we were making our way towards Branson!!  

Our bus left Festus at 7:30 in the morning .. our first stop was 4 hours later .. in Lebanon, Missouri.  The buses parked in the Burger King parking lot but we were given our choice of Burger King, Steak N Shake or Long John Silvers to eat.  Some of us chose Steak N Shake.  It was a fairly long walk over there and we decided to follow Pastor Terry and his wife, Clarisse,  as they took a shortcut through this picket fence!!  Hmmmmm .. not such a good idea!!  

Irene made it through pretty good considering her back problem!!  

Simone was next .. then Lois, Faye and Betty

 Some of us had a bit of a struggle getting through the fence .. Faye .. the lady at the back in the red top .. ended up on the ground and it we were all laughing so hard we could hardly get her back up on her feet!!!  It was a struggle but it was a fun struggle .. for everybody except Faye!!  

We laughed about our struggles getting through that fence every day in Branson .. LOL!!  

The Pastor and his wife and a couple of friends .. looks like they were having a GREAT time!!!

Faye is another friend from the Senior Center .. Betty is a new friend!  She was assigned to share Faye's room at the Savannah House.  She fit right in with the rest of us!!!

On the road again .. next stop .. St. James at the Russell Stover Factory Outlet Store!!

I wasn't very interested in all the candies Russell Stover has to offer although Simone and I did try some of the samples they had out on trays!!  There is an Antique Store you can enter through the Candy Store and some of us checked it out while others stayed and bought candy.   I really liked  this birdhouse that I might want to bug somebody to make me some day .. LOL!! 

Back on the road again and here we are at Branson .. Wooooo Hooooo!!!

Waiting our turn for the elevator up to our rooms .. we'll be loading back up on the bus shortly to go shopping at The Amish Store.  Irene and I chose to stay at the hotel and rest while they were shopping for we would be leaving  for dinner at the Grand Country Buffet at 6:00!!
