OUR LAST DAY AT MYRTLE BEACH!!!

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 28

 Can't say Good Morning  for I'm late .. LOL!!  However, we did get up early enough to some sunrise pictures and a video this morning!!!

ONE MORE SUNRISE AT MYRTLE BEACH!!! 

We were off bright and early this morning to join Jerry and Edna at the K & W Cafeteria for their Breakfast Buffet  .. our favorite singing  .. palaver with Ken .. cook was doing the Eggs this morning  but I sure messed up on the picture I took!!  She called Jerry a good looking young man and Ken told her she needed glasses .. needless to say this started a bit of bantering back and forth that every person in line got a kick out of .. LOL!! 

The guys got the whole Egg, Meat, Potatoes, Toast thing .. Edna and I had been looking for Waffles with Strawberries and Whipped Cream .. Yummmmmmm!!! 

Jerry and Edna headed back to pack up and load the car for they will be leaving in the morning also .. we headed back for a little rest and relaxation before   going to George and Vivian's place  .. we're getting together early this evening for our card playing so those of us who are leaving in the morning can get "home" early and rest up for our many miles on the road!!!

I heard a bird tweeting in this  Berry Bush and wanted to catch it in a pic  but    as luck would have it off it flew before I snapped the button!!  Oh well .. I like the pic anyway .. LOL!!!

Gonna go take a last walk on the beach ..   I'm outta here .. see  ya' later ..  hope you're having a GREAT day!!

Click on the link below to join us in our last walk ..  I had a bit of excitement while I was taping .. a Dolphin started jumping out of the water .. what a surprise!!!  Ken was further down the beach from me and when he saw the Dolphin there were 2 other Dolphins with it but closer to the beach .. I only saw the 1 .. but how neat that we should see Dolphins on our last day on the beach!!!

 9:34 PM .. Our last day  at Myrtle Beach is almost finished!!!    Vivian once again cooked a delicious dinner for all of us .. Meat Loaf ,  Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Brocoli, Salad and Hawaiian King Dinner Rolls.   Cookies and Ice Cream for Dessert.   Of course we played a few games of cards for our last evening together ..  and I actually won the quarter pot from the Pay Me game AND the nickel pot from the Scat / Blitz game!!!!   Don't mean to be bragging but I'm not usually that lucky so just have to share it .. LOL!!!   Our  Good Bye hugs at the end of the evening left the heart a bit sad ..  these are fun and good people we have spent  this month with .. we will miss them!!! 

 During a break in the card playing George pointed out the beautiful sunset right off their balcony  and I got an opportunity to snap a couple of pics ..

 11:13 .. OH MY .. it has gotten late!!!  Pics are posted .. story is told .. finally got the video of our last walk on the beach straightened out and posted .. time to head for bed .. and rest up for a day or 2 on the road .. Good Night All!!! 

URINETOWN THE MUSICAL!!

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26

Strange name for a play I know .. LOL!!!    This was a live performance  at the Theater of the Republic in Conway, S C.    These are not professional performers they are volunteers who live in and around the community!!!  

But First .. Dinner at the  "Grumpy Monk" in Myrtle Beach!!! 

A very busy .. very noisy  place!!!   And on top of the noise of everybody talking this poor guy was playing his guitar and singing .. I felt a little bad  for him .. how frustrating it must be to sing and play your heart out and everybody just keeps talking .. no applause . nobody watching ... I guess he surely must be used to it though !!! 

And we're off to Conway to see URINETOWN THE MUSICAL!!

 George says this tree was the hanging tree in days of old ..  bad guys were hung from that branch sticking out to the left!!!  An interesting little tidbit!!

ONE OF THE MOST UPROARIOUSLY FUNNY MUSICALS IN YEARS, URINETOWN IS A HILARIOUS TALE OF GREED, CORRUPTION, LOVE, AND REVOLUTION IN A TIME WHEN WATER IS WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD. IN A GOTHAM-LIKE CITY, A TERRIBLE WATER SHORTAGE, CAUSED BY A 20-YEAR DROUGHT, HAS LED TO A GOVERNMENT-ENFORCED BAN ON PRIVATE TOILETS. A LITTLE MORE ABOUT URINETOWN!!

As  you can see we got to the theater just a bit early .. but that's okay .. it gave me a chance to get some pictures!!! 

The theater did actually fill up .. however, our photographer failed to get a picture of  the filled theater!!!  I got very lucky .. the 2 seats directly in front of Ken and I remained empty the whole  night so we had no problem being able to see  everything!!!

As usual no pictures allowed but I did snap a couple of pictures of the lineup at the end of the performance ..

 And the cast lined up outside the theater  afterwards .. I was in hopes of getting some good pics then but  too many people were rushing up to congrat them on a great performance so the pic below is it!!    See the  girl in lonnnnggg pony tails???  She was "Little Sally" .. my favorite character .. at least I got a picture of her .. LOL!!

According to information out there on the internet when   this play ran on Broadway it won awards .. it even won a Tony Award!!!

I found this video  of the entire   play  but it is not performed by this group . it is performed by a group called The Studio Players!!!  It is 2 hours long .. you will have time during the credits at the beginning to fix yourself a drink and a snack  before viewing ..  LOL!!!    Just click on the link ..

Good Morning ..  It's another bright sunny day here at Myrtle Beach ...

We  finally saw a boat out on the water this morning!!! 

We've been here almost a month and that's the first boat we have seen out there!!! 

We were beginning to think it was going to run right up on the beach .. but it finally turned around and headed back out in that big big ocean!!!

This morning's temps Myrtle Beach 46 .. Port St. Lucie  63 .. Festus  34 .. Palestine  34 .. Casey  32 .. Buffalo gets the prize for the coldest temp .. 21 .. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! 

 And now a few pics from last night's adventure .. before going to the Alabama Theater we went to the Golden Corral  and stuffed ourselves for dinner .. LOL!!!  And then off to the thetater ..

That's George and Vivian waaaaayyyyy up there on the steps of the theater!!  And then  Jerry and Edna .. and then Ken .. and Liz lagging behind to get pictures .. LOL!!!

We had terrific seats .. about 8 rows back from the stage in the center of the row ..   funny thing ..  when the guys got the tickets  .. the floor seats were $20.00 higher so they got balcony seats!!!  However, when we got a great surprise  .. they didn't have a very large audience  so  everybody got seats on the floor .. lucky night!!!! 

Sad to say no picture taking was allowed during the show so this is it!!!  We all loved it .. very good show .. music, singing and dancing from down through the years and the comedian stage hand Ricky Mogel was soooooo funny!!!  I tried to find a video of the show on You Tube to post  but found only one that was in 2012 and it was only 30 seconds long .. whoever was taping  it must have got caught .. LOL!!!

ONE THE SHOW ALABAMA THEATER!!

Last night's moon on the Atlantic!!!

We're sitting here with the sliders open watching and listening to the waves rolling in .. I'm thinking we'll be take a walk down there on the beach pretty shortly!!! 

You're not going to believe what we're doing tonight ..   George & Vivian and Ken & I are having dinner at a place called "The Grumpy Monk" and then going to Conway, South Carolina to a theater to see a live play .. titled "Urinetown" ..  Yeah .. LOL!!!! 

2:40 pm ..   We finally got our behinds moving and took that walk on the beach .. as we were walking  along the edge of the water we were talking about how much we would miss  seeing and hearing the ocean!!  Wondering if this would be our last walk on the beach for this season .. so of course I took a video!!

COMING TO AN END !!!

 Chuckling ..  I had just  clicked the button to stop taping and Ken  pointed forward and said "Look .. I think that's George and Vivian coming this way" .. so I hit the button and started taping again .. LOL!!!

LOOK WHO WE FOUND!!!

After visiting with George, Vivian and Bill a short while we headed on up the beach and they headed the other direction down the beach to  get across to Sea Mark Towers.   While walking on the beach you can cut through at the various hotels and end up on Ocean Boulevard and then go  down the sidewalks to River City Café .. Ken loves that place and wanted to go there one more time for one of their big juicy Burgers for lunch  .. so off we went!!!  

Don't ask me why because I don't know why .. but I  love that little red chair!!!  

Ken said he used to smoke Chesterfield Cigarettes so of course I had to snap a pic of  the Chesterfield sign and that very very old Cigarette machine!!!  Ken said he could remember putting 25 cents into the Cigarette machines back "in the day"!!! 

How about that Burger????? 

 Bellies full of Burger and Sodas we took off up the street  to the Caravelle office to get some info .. looking across the street I noticed  the brown windows  that cover the indoor swimming pool / hot tub area of our hotel!!!

Yep .. sure enough .. that's the pool room!!! 

We're back in our room now and packing up  so we'll be ready to go Sunday morning!!! 

It will soon be time to get spruced up for tonight's fun at "Urinetown"  .. in the meantime we want to get all this stuff loaded in the car .. so I'm outta here!!!  Have a GREAT day!!
