DAY TWO OF THE "OORAH" ADVENTURE!!

DAY TWO ... Saturday, April 26 .. From Kentucky to West Virginia to Virginia ..



7:00 in the morning and we're on the road!!!  Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Biscuits and Gravy, AND a Waffle for Breakfast .. I shared the Waffle with Ken of course!!  It's actually 6:00 in this time zone!!!  We're planning to go to Monticello and tour Thomas Jefferson's home today!!!!

 

Driving towards the Appalachian Mountains and fog is rising!!!

8:00 .. We have arrived in Ashland, West Virginia  at the Welcome Center.  We put the first of our audio books in .. James Patterson's "Cross Country".

 Welcome Center .. Covington, VA.   Having a picnic again!!  Ham Sandwich .. Chips .. Banana .. Water.  Very nice Welcome Center.  Free Roasted Peanuts!!  I was ready for a chance to stretch my legs!!

Going to Williamsburg for the night .. BUT FIRST ...













 

 

 3:11 .. Michie's Tavern General Store ..  smashed penny machine  .. YAYYYYY!!!!!!

 

 

 

Hmmmmmm  ....

 

We came to Michie's Tavern because when I was searching on the internet searching  for smashed penny machines in Virginia this was on the list .. I never dreamed it was all this when I saw it on the list .. I was picturing a dark dingy tavern and wasn't at all sure I wanted to go into a tavern to smash a penny!!!  I'm sure glad Ken didn't listen to me and followed the GPS and discovered this place .. I would gladly come here again!!! 

 

And we're on the road again .. Williamsburg here we come .. lots of stop and go traffic ..

But we finally made it to Williamsburg .. 

6:00 .. Williamsburg, VA at last!!   Spending the night at the  Sleep Inn ..



We were happy to see Cracker Barrel across the way ..  just two parking lots away .. we walked there to get our supper!!!!  And then came back to the room to rest ourselves for another day of adventuring!!
