LET'S GO FISHING AT GRANDPA'S HOUSE!!!!

Mary, Sidney and Lydia loaded their fishing gear in the car and headed for Grandpa's house this morning to try their luck at catching some fish from the lake in Grandpa's back yard ..

Sidney caught the first fish of the day .. 
Yayyyyyy Sidney!!!  

Mary got the next one!!  

Hmmmm .. Grandpa got a bunch of moss!!!  

Aaahhhh .. Grandpa got a fish at last!!!  

  

Sidney tried putting out THREE fishing poles thinking he would have a 100 percent chance of catching another fish!!  He finally got a bite on one of his lines but he was watching another pole .. so Mom reeled it in for him .. Thanks Mom!!!  Of course Sidney took credit for it .. after all .. the fish bit on HIS line!! 

 

Whoops .. Lydia's luck wasn't as good as Grandpa's and Mom's and Sidney's .. her only  catch was a bunch of moss .. but she was a good sport and just kept trying!!  She didn't even get upset when we were rude enough to laugh when she got her line caught in the trees .. she just laughed right along with us .. Good Job Lydia!!!   

 

What a beautiful day this was!!  We visited a while .. fished a while .. then we fixed lunch .. Grandpa's delicious home made Tomato Soup .. Grilled Cheese and a Salad.  Then Brownies and Ice Cream on the deck later.  We  played a few rounds of "Trash Your Neighbor" (a card game) and then  went back out for more fishing!!  Four fish were caught all together .. Sunfish and Blue Gill ..  but they were thrown back in to swim another day!!   Mary had brought Hot Dogs to cut up for bait .. I'm thinking  the fish were liking the Hot Dogs for lunch on a muggy Monday afternoon!!!  

This WAS a beautiful day .. but it changed!!  We heard thunder rolling in the distance as the fishing was going on .. shortly after Mary reeled in the fish for Sidney and Lydia reeled in her prize moss catch (there were MANY times lines were reeled in only to discover moss on them by EVERYBODY fishing .. but I think perhaps this was the BEST bunch of moss!!) .. however .. I digress .. shortly after Mary reeled in Sidney's fish and Lydia reeled in her moss .. the lightning started .. it was time to pick things up and head for the house!!  The rain held off until about 20 minutes after Mary and the kids left and then it came with a vengeance .. high winds and POURING rain!!  Mary called to let us know when they got home .. we were happy to know they had made it safely!!  Thank You Lord!!  

Gosh I can hardly believe it .. I am actually getting this story posted on the same day it happened .. Wooooo Hoooooo!!!
