MYRTLE BEACH .. DAY FOUR!!

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 20.
 
We decided before we even got out of bed that we would be going to Friendly's for Breakfast this morning!!  You may remember this place from our trip to Myrtle Beach last year .. it's one of our favorite places!!! 



 

 

The booth closest to you on the left is where we were seated for our Breakfast!!

 

Today is going to be our day for penny smashing at Myrtle Beach .. I got on the computer before we left and went to the Penny Collector's site and came up with the names and addresses of places where Penny Smashers were located.  Put the addresses in the GPS when we got in the car and as soon as Breakfast was over we were on the hunt!!!  This is the first one we found ..



A nifty place .. but alack and alas .. it wasn't open!!  After going up to the door and finding it locked .. walking around taking pics I finally took a good look at the sing out front and discovered they don't open until 3:30 .. guess we'll have to come back if we want to smash a penny here!!! 

We found a couple more places that were on our list but they weren't open yet either!!  I guess people at Myrtle Beach prefer to get a late start on their day!!!

Look what we found .. Krispy Kreme .. it's past noon .. time for lunch .. if you eat Krispy Kremes for lunch it's not so bad, right?????  Haven't allowed ourselves a Krispy Kreme for way too long .. this is our day!!!  Krispy Kremes and Coffee .. a great lunch treat!!

And then back on the hunt .. we are determined to get at least ONE smashed penny today!!  It's past noon .. surely the next place will be open!!!  Looking for the Broadway On The Beach complex .. there's supposed to be a machine at Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream and one at Yankee Candles.   Ken's already looking forward to a Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Cone .. LOL!! 

Sad to say .. the machine that was supposed to be at Ben & Jerry's had been removed .. BUT we happily discovered the one at Yakee Candles right down the walkway .. Yayyyyyyyy!!! 



 

Time for a bathroom visit!!  Look at those bright colorful flowers .. blooming in February .. WOW!!!

The bird turned and looked right at Ken every once in a while and I was trying to get a pic when they were looking right at each other but the darned camera wouldn't cooperate!!! 

Of course we couldn't leave this place without going  back to Ben & Jerry's and getting  our Ice Cream Cones!!! 

 

Ken's was a plain old Chocolate one .. how can you go to a place like Ben & Jerry's and get an ordinary old Ice Cream like that??????? 

Mine was Strawberry Cheesecake ..

YUMMMMMMMMMM!!!!



Hard to believe we were so cold we were shaking as we were walking around the complex looking at things and snapping pictures .. and here we sit eating Ice Cream .. LOL LOL LOL!!

Jerry and Edna were out entertaining their daughter and granddaughter for the day and we had plans to meet George and Vivian for Supper but had some time in between to go back to our room and just be lazy .. and snap pics of course!!!

We met George and Vivian at their place and spent a little time visiting before taking off .. I snapped this picture of the armoire TV hide-away  because I love this thing!!  Would really like to find something like this to put our TV in when we get to a new house!!!  This will work as a reminder of what we're looking for!!! 

Next stop .. Simply Southern Smokehouse ..



This is a buffet restaurant but we had the nicest bus person!!!  Very very friendly .. he burst into song as he was bussing tables .. "Amazing Grace" seemed to be his favorite .. and he has a terrific voice.  When he was cleaning empty tables off he put on quite a performance moving very fast .. kind of a table cleaning dance routine!!  A very entertaining gentleman!!  After one of his performances cleaning a table I gave him the thumbs up sign and said "Good Job" .. and he came over and thanked me and called me Sweet Puddin' .. no wonder I liked him .. LOL!!!

And back to George & Vivian's place to play some cards .. Jerry, Edna, Jennifer and Sienna were finished with their day and made it over too .. Jennifer wasn't playing cards so she became the photographer .. Thank You Jennifer!!!

This was our last night in Myrtle Beach .. Ken has been friends with these people for many years and I can see why .. they are so welcoming and we always have a great time and lots of laughs with them!!!  Thank You Jerry and Edna .. George and Vivian for a great time!!! Can't wait to see you next year .. meanwhile we'll keep in touch on Facebook .. LOL!!
