WE MADE IT .. PORT ST. LUCIE AT LAST!!!

MONDAY FEBRUARY, 29

Look at that beautiful sky!!!    Days Inn .. Daytona Beach, Florida.  9:20 AM ..  we had our Breakfast in the Hospitality Room ..  car is packed and we're off again ..

We are on the hunt in Daytona for a Penny Smasher .. the internet tells us there is one located at the Beach Bazaar located on Atlantic Avenue and another one at Joyland Amusement Park!!!  The closest one according to my IPHONE is Beach Bazaar ..

We found it!!!  Funny thing is .. it's located right inside the door into the shop .. neither of us noticed it when we walked in .. we looked all around the store without seeing it .. finally asked the guy at the register if he had a penny smasher .. he said "Yeah .. give me your penny and I'll smash it with my hammer" and then he pointed at the penny smasher right inside the door .. LOL LOL LOL!!!   He was a very nice and very funny guy ..  I don't remember what we purchased there but when he gave Ken his change he made sure the penny he gave him back was shiny for our next smashed penny .. LOL!!!

Next  find Joyland Amusement Park ..   the information on the internet said the penny machine was located under the Slingshot .. and  the Slingshot would have been very hard to miss ..

We asked this young man about the Penny Smasher and he looked at us like we were bonkers .. I told him according to the internet there was a penny smashing machine located under the Slingshot!!  He said "Ohhhhhhh .. it must be in the Arcade underneath here .. and pointed us to the door into the Arcade.  But first we talked together long enough to find out  he used to live in one of the towns close to ST. Louis .. so of course some palavering was done about things around St. Louis .. he was thrilled to meet  up with people from his home area!!  Very nice young guy!!!

Ken is on the search .. LOL!!

At last .. there it is .. Yayyyyyyyyyy!!!

We were glad it was early  and the place wasn't packed with young people battling at all those machines!!!

In going out a side door of the Arcade we discovered we get down to the beach!!!  WOW!!!

Notice the sun bather in her swimsuit stretched out in the sun!!!  It's bright and sunny and 75 degrees!!!

Have no idea who this goofy guy walking around with a shell on his nose is .. but I think he's flirting with me .. could that be?????? 

Notice how clean the beach looks .. not a million broken shells laying in the sand!!! 

After those days of walking on the beach at Myrtle Beach and seeing all those broken shells I found this  sand with NO shells awesome!!!

Back to the Arcade ..

The Daytona International Speedway bleachers ..

10:05 in the AM and it is 75 degrees!!! Whoops .. that's 11:05 Florida time!!!

Time for a "Pit stop" ..  the car needs a little gas and the bellies need a little food ..

These 1/4 pound Hot Dogs looked and smelled delicious .. and they were .. BUT the place had no tables to sit at .. Ken has put so much garnish on his he was didn't want to eat it in the car .. so he stood outside and did his gobbling .. LOL!!!

Port St. Lucie at last .. and the Best Western All Suites Hotel  ..

 

This unit separates the Living Room area from the Bedroom area .. and also  provides a TV for the Bedroom!!!

 

 At the time we signed in there were no regular ground floor rooms available  .. upon discovering  there was no elevator  Ken asked if there was an elevator  Ken made a comment that he wasn't sure about being able to get all our luggage up the stairs and she said there was 1 handicap room available on  the ground floor if we would be okay with that .. of course we snagged it .. LOL!!!

We were glad we did for there was an oversized bathroom .. I assume to allow room for a wheel chair or walker .. and the stool was a high one .. and there were bars on the wall to assist in getting in and out AND the shower   head is one you can hold in your hand!!  We are quite happy with the room!!!

We took a walk around outside as soon as we were all settled in ..

Once we got all settled in  I messaged Tim that we were in Port St. Lucie and at the Hotel .. and  he gave us a super surprise .. he had just picked up Sydni and Summer from school and he and the girls showed up at our door!!!  What a great surprise!!!

We made arrangements to go to Cracker Barrel for Supper when Krysti got off work ..Summer loves Cracker Barrel as much as Ken and I do so I was an easy choice for where we would be going .. LOL!!!

What a happy looking bunch ..

It took several practice games but Summer finally ended up with only 1 tee left in the holes  .. Good Job Summer!!!

Could it be the "Pro" s going to help them with their Checker game??????

After our meal at Cracker Barrel we followed them back to their home and spent the evening late into the night visiting  and catching up on everything!!!  A great ending to a beautiful day!!! 

I was hoping to get all caught up with our days in Port St. Lucie on here but the time has gone all too fast and in looking at the time on  my task bar it is almost midnight .. time to get off of here and get some sleep .. tomorrow will be another fun adventure!!!   MAYBE  I will be able to get today's adventure posted in the morning .. we'll see .. no promises!!!
