KATHY'S VISIT .. FOURTH OF JULY!!!!

Fourth of July we donned our Red, White and Blue and headed for  a walk at one of our favorite places to walk .. Jefferson Barracks Park.  We wanted to take her on the trail we walk that runs along the Mississippi River but it was blocked off as they were preparing for a 4th of July celebration in that area of the park .. so we took her on the other trail that we have walked there!!! 



Look at that beautiful sky .. what a great day for walking!!!!

One of the great things about walking the trails at Jefferson Barracks is the many Deer you see as you're walking and how amazing it is that they are so used to people going through they don't run off .. they just go on about their business or stand and watch you as you walk by!!!!

 

 







Hard to believe in a place this big you would run into an old friend .. 

Ken went to school with Helen and her husband Ron .. Ron wasbalso  in the Marines with Ken .. they went to Boot Camp together!   I met them both while we were in Fort Myers visiting with our friends Pat and Rich!!!!  Rich was also a classmate of Ken, Ron and Helen!!!!

Of course Jefferson Barracks Park has a 250 years birthday cake too!!!

The flags lining the drive through Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery were an awesome sight!!!!

Seeing row upon row  of beautiful white headstones is always an awesome sight!!!

Later in the evening .. we enjoyed a cook-out and more fireworks ..

FIREWORKS JULY 4, 2014

 

This was also Kathy's last day with us for we would be taking her back to Palestine the next morning .. what a great time we had while she was here!!!  Not only did she see things she had never thought she would see .. I enjoyed seeing those sights just as much as she did for I hadn't seen some of the either!!!!
