Oh My .. it's Sunday evening already .. Yesterday was our last reunion day. There was nothing planned for yesterday until evening .. a Cocktail Hour at 6:00 .. and a Banquet at 7:00 .. we had no desire to go to the Cocktail Hour so we didn't get in any hurry as we were touring Mount Vernon .. we got back to the hotel just in time to get a shower and spruce up for the banquet.
Breakfast Buffet once again at the hotel before leaving .. we had planned to go to Monnticello today but made the mistake of going to Montpelier first .. WOW .. there is so much in the area between Dumfries and Montpelier to stop and see ..and we did .. then Montpelier .. we took a 2 hour guided tour .. then spent another hour looking around on our own .. the Madison Cemetery .. the Slave Cemtery .. then after leaving we came across even more places to stop and check out .. you'll read all about them and see the pics when I get this day posted!!! By the time we left Montpelier there was no way we could make it to Monticello in time to see anything soooooo .. here we are at the Red Roof Inn in Charlottesville for the night. The Inn is right downtown .. Virginia University is right down the street!! College kids everywhere!! You can go right out the front door of the hotel and turn right and there are all kinds of eating places down the street!! There are 2 food places attached to the hotel ..
Day 10 Fredericksburg gas wawa 3.37 walmart and kmart .... First ones we've seen!!!!!
Chancellorsville Bsttlefield. Wilderness battlefield. Reenactment but patking a mile down the road!!!! Going to Monticello . Beautiful day .. temp 72 at 10:43. Montpelier .. James Madison's home. Breakfast Buffet hotel. Lunch .. something grill .. sandwich / salad for Ken. Supper .. Sandwiches from Dunkin Donuts. Charlottesville Red Roof Inn for the night. /gift shop .. 5.80 cash. Same shop .. 10.52 cash.
