ARIZONA ADVENTURE DAY EIGHT!!!!

Day Eight of this adventure was Friday, September 30th.  We awoke at the Quality Inn in Tucson, Arizona .. this would be our home away from home for a few days while we visited with Steve, Lori, Jeremiah and Caleb. We had called Steve and Lori Thursday evening and let them know we had arrived in town earlier than we thought we would but not to take off work Friday .. that we would entertain ourselves through the day and get together that evening.  Little did we know that by the end of this day we would be at Pinnacle Peak Steak House enjoying a gunfight with a rather strange "Wolf Man"!!! 

Of course our day starts with a good Breakfast .. compliments of the Quality Inn ..

Mel and Sharon, friends from the Bread Company Bunch have family in Arizona and go there quite often .. Mel  told us to be sure and go to Tubac when we get to Tucson and go to a certain steak house they love to go to .. and John Wayne used to frequent!!!  Sooooo ... here we are in Tucson .. and off we go to Tubac ..

Neat little town .. but where is that Steak House????

Sad to say .. I thought we had the papers Mel had given us with us but alack and alas we didn't .. (I found them on the kitchen table when we got back home .. Whoops!!!) I couldn't remember the name of the Steak House .. but I did remember that Mel said John Wayne had frequented the place.  A lady at the tourist information place said if John Wayne had frequented the place it must be the Cow Palace which was down the road a short ways .. so off we went .. looking for the Cow Palace!!!

As luck would have it there was not a car in sight and the place was closed .. so we were not able to go inside .. still not sure this was the right place .. I gotta' have a talk with Mel!!!

Ken's daughter Elizabeth had asked us to bring home some  rocks for her rock garden .. Ken thought this one would be great .. IF he could only get it to the car .. LOL!!! 

Lunch time ..

What's next????  Laundromat ..

Ken stayed at the laundromat and kept an eye on things .. well .. kept an eye on his book anyway .. while I took a short walk down the way to a neat little resale shop named "Twice As Nice" .. I found a blouse .. but no real "treasures" to get excited about .. darn the luck!!! But I had fun looking .. AND I made it back to the laundromat before the clothes were ready to come out of the dryer!!! 

Laundry is done .. clothes restored to their places on the hanging bar in the car or the suitcase .. we've had a brief rest in our room and time to spruce up a bit .. time now to head for Steve and Lori's house ...

THIS IS IT!!!  Started chuckling as soon as we got there .. this sign was on the wooden gated entrance to their back yard .. LOL!!!

Have you noticed the ties on the ceiling????  How could you miss them .. LOL!!!  If someone comes in wearing a tie they cut the tie off and put the person's name on a label and stick to it and hang it from the ceiling!!!  One of the men at that lonnnnggggg table of people just happened to have a tie on .. so we got to see them do the tie cutting and hanging .. they made quite a production out of it .. LOL!!!

Caleb is locking up Grandpa Kenny and brother Jeremiah in the local jail .. LOL!!!

Time for the show at the old Hotel .. the Sheriff .. Deputy Sheriff .. and Wolf Man are going to do some rootin' tootin' shootin' ... too bad my camera did not do a very good job of getting pictures .. don't know if it was the lighting or me .. but I don't have much to show you of the funny live show we watched ..

I did manage to get a decent picture of this good looking cowboy as he came walking past our seats .. he wasn't a REAL cowboy .. he was part of the show .. I'm pretty sure!!!

Show's over and we're out and about in the "town" now ..

Ken took them at their word and tried a pair of the goofy glasses on .. LOL!!!

What a great evening we had at Pinnacle Peak .. great food .. great company .. lots of laughs .. and 2 adorable little boys to spend time with!!!   We weren't at the house very long before little Caleb came over and took my hand and said "come on" .. and I followed him and Jeremiah into their bedroom .. they had gotten a set of big boy bunk beds and both were greatly excited to show them off .. and then they took me out the door to the side of the house to see their play area .. I should have taken pictures .. they have a wonderful place to play and it's all fenced in with high wooden fence so they are very protected .. fantastic!!!  They are so cute!!!  Steve and Lori are pretty terrific people too .. I was very comfortable and felt right at home with both of them!!!  A terrific night!!!
