7:15 AM .. You can see absolutely NOTHING outside the balcony!!! I feel sorry for anyone who might have to get out this morning to get to their jobs .. don't know how in the world they can navigate!!!
As I was sitting here posting the rest of the pics and story from yesterday's fun on yesterday's page I could see the fog dissipating bit by bit .. it is now 8:21 and you can see the beach ...
I can even see the guy down on the beach swinging a metal detector around!!!
The Weather app on my phone tells me it is 64 degrees here in Myrtle Beach .. 73 in Port St. Lucie .. and only 25 in Festus .. and 23 in Casey .. YIKES!!!! Our friends Pat and Rich are spending the month in Fort Myers, Florida .. I just got a text message from Pat .. it is 74 degrees and a beautiful sunny morning there!!!
We'll be going to the Coffee Hour at the Santa Maria at 11:00 .. they call it Coffee Hour but it's actually lunch!!! Other than that we'll very likely be having another lazy day at "home" until this evening and then some of us are getting together at the Santa Maria to play cards.
That's it for now .. hope your weather is better than ours!!!!
3:08 pm .. What lousey weather we are having today!! My phone says it is 61 degrees here abut it feels a lot colder than that AND it's raining!!!
Hot Coffee Hour and Brunch ..
After Coffee Hour we moved upstairs to another room to play "Cornhole" .. it would be "Bean Bag Toss" but the bags are filled with corn instead of beans .. LOL!! They put all the names in a bowl and draw out names to put "teams" of 2 together with 1 member of the team at one end of the room by that board and the other member by the board at the other end of the room. If you get a bag ON the board it is 1 point for your team .. if you get it in the hole it is 3 points. When one of the teams reaches 11 points the round is over and that team wins. After all the teams had a turn the winning teams were paired against each other and they played until eventually there was only 1 winning team!!! I was paired up with Carol and we did not win on our first round so that was the only round we played!!! It was a lot of laughs!!!
I look like a real pro .. LOL!!
Jerry and Ken were a team and they did real well .. Thanks to Jerry .. LOL!!! Although Ken did get 1 in the hole!!! They got to play in the winners against winners round and did well but did not win!!
After this fun we headed for the Myrtle City Mall with Jerry and Edna to do some looking around and checking out movies showing at the Cinema there. Of course while we were there we had to have a nice warm Pretzel and Soda!!! Now we are back in the room looking out the windows at a very dreary scene .. dark foggy skies and rain. a good afternoon for just vegetating!!!
We will be going to the Santa Maria again this evening to play cards .. another evening fun thing the hotel sets up!! At least we don't have to get out in the rain to get there .. LOL!!
OH MY!!! You remember we are on the top floor, right???? We have sprung a leak in our ceiling in the area of the little hallway going past the closet to the bathroom .. drip .. drip .. drip .. and it is also in part of the closet .. we moved the clothes from Ken's end of the closet onto the shower curtain rod across the bathtub .. the sleeves were getting wet!! We went to the front desk and let them know before we left for the Mall this afternoon but when we got back there was no evidence that anyone had been here to check it out so I gave it a couple of hours for someone to get in touch and they didn't so I called them .. after discussing things with Susan the leak is through the roof and they will need a contractor to fix it .. she started looking for another room for us. She was the one who checked us in and changed our room on the first day here so she knew we wanted one with a double closet and oceanfront .. she said she would do some looking and call back. She found us a room that should be arranged just like this one but has a King bed instead of 2 full size beds .. she sent a person over with a key so we could check it out. Upon checking it out we decided we would make the move but not until tomorrow .. sooooooo tomorrow we will be packing things up and moving!!!

ReplyDeleteIt did not look like a very fun day today ! (Dreary and Rainy outside) --Bummer -A Leak !! Now, You are going to have to move again !! This makes the third room you have been in ---Not Fun !! ---It is a cool 29 here ! Your weather temps sound great ! It is a good thing they have a lot of entertainment in the Hotel !! Love and Big Hugs to Both of you !! Hope you like your new room tomorrow and Hope you have better weather !!

ReplyDeleteI thought the heart God thing was neat too .. and I got to see him doing the heart part .. looked like a young man!! The last time we were able to see through the fog to the beach today it was still there .. we thought the pouring rain might wash it away .. anxious to see if it is still there in the morning!! The room we are moving into is arranged just like this one but for the King size bed and that one has a comfy upholstered chair to sit in and watch TV this one doesn't. I think we will be fine in that room .. I sure hope so anyway!!!
